This year I undertook my BTEC Level 5 Sports and Remedial massage with North London School of Sports Massage. I had a great year with a fantastic group and wonderful tutors, passing with a Distinction in October 2016. This year really widened my knowledge base and put me at the top of the field in Sports Massage

I have continued to work with Thames Rowing Club. The club has gone on to have its 2 most successful years to date winning the senior 4+ at Henley Women#s Regatta and the Men winning the Thames Challenge Cup (club 8+) in 2015, and the Visitors in 2016 an intermediate event for coxless 4's. This was a fantastic achievement and I am proud to be a part of the club and support team. I also now attend their training camp in Seville/Holland, and provide support at regattas and Henley in the Summer.

Recently I have begun working with the England RFU women's squad to assist with post match and training recovery during tournaments.

2014/2015 Round Up

2014 was a bit of a whirlwind year. I started a new position with London Scottish RFC (championship club) where I provide sports massage support and match assistance. I am now the lead Sports massage therapist and Strength and Conditioning Coach for Thames rowing club. This year I have increased my event work working at Henley Royal Regatta, backstage massage at London Calling and Wireless festivals and overnight massage support at the BHF London to Marathon trek. I have continued to develop my skills working alongside highly experienced physios, and working with elite athletes. I also undertook a Kineso taping course with Sporttape.

The London Marathon is a substantial challenge that thousands take on every year as both a personal challenge and in order to raise money for charity. I had the opportunity to provide post-race massage for the team from Virgin. There were a lot of very tired and sore legs that were thoroughly grateful for the massage, and post race advice they received. It was a great opportunity to help the recovery of the runners and ease some of the pain and lactic acid build up! Congratulations to all that ran.

After a long weekend and a few very hard fights I would like to give huge congratulations to those competing in the WAKO (World Association of Kickboxing Organisations) British Championships. The team from Adrian Wright's martial arts club came away with one 1st place, one 2nd place and two 3rd places. After a lot of sore muscles and a couple of injuries the massages were greatly received and aided a speedy recovery back into training the following week.
"We really appreciated having Laura this weekend to support the team. Her massages and first aid were very helpful and much needed. Thank You!" Adrian Wright
